Poetry Contests and a Collective Poem Online

Here goes.

First of all, in atonement for our pathetically short meeting last week, I've scoured the web for online poetry contests for high school students, and found a handful with upcoming deadlines. Check the link to the Mr. Lally webpage, seen here (if the link doesn't work, go through the BHS homepage).

Also, why haven't we thought of this before... Let's start a collaborative poem in the comments section of this post. It will (A) be a way to keep our writing sharp and (B) shatter our record for most comment on a single post (current record is 3 I think)

So here are the rules: Each time you post, cut & Paste the entire poem into your response and add UP TO TWO lines to the poem. Whether it rhymes or employs meter will have to be up to the whim of the first few entries, but try to keep your responses in line with the previous entries. I've stolen the rules from the "Create a random CD Cover" site to come up with a collection of five different titles (I've trimmed a word from a few of them for greater impact). The first writer should choose a title and write the first line or two.

USE THE COMMENTS SECTION BELOW TO WRITE THE POEM. Good luck.

Possible Titles:
Small Things Badly
Comes From Bad Judgement
As Quickly As Possible
No Golden Rules
Why I Have One

***UPDATE*** Poets may contribute more than once, but not before TWO other people have added something.
